Private alpha for Mac

A sequencing room for image sets.

POSTROOMS is a native Mac app for arranging, branching, annotating, and exporting photo sequences, built for people who know one swap can change the whole edit.

Local-first. Mac-native. Built for photo sets, books, zines, portfolios, client edits, posts, and bodies of work.

A POSTROOMS sequencing room with ordered frames, rooms on the left, and frame notes on the right.
Drop in a set. Make the first room. Branch the edit before you commit.

The sequence is the work

The order changes the edit.

A set of images is not finished when the files are selected. The first frame sets the temperature. The middle decides the rhythm. The last frame changes what came before it.

POSTROOMS gives that decision its own room.

Try the room

One swap can change the whole room.

This tiny row is the homepage version of the product. Move the last frame forward and the read changes.

The sequence opens quiet, then turns.

Rooms and branches

Make a room for every version.

A room is one possible order of a set. Branch it when you want to try a slower edit, a harder cut, a different opener, or a new ending. Your original room stays intact.

  1. Room 01 First pass
  2. Room 02 Slower edit
  3. Room 03 Ruthless cut
  4. Room 04 Finalist

Mark a finalist when the room feels right. Archive the others without losing the thinking.

Notes beside images

Keep the thinking with the sequence.

Write a note for the whole room. Add private notes to individual frames. Draft captions and alt text without leaving the edit. POSTROOMS keeps the visual order and the editorial reasoning in the same place.

Room note
Lead with quiet. Let the street images get harsher.
Frame note
Strong image, but maybe too early.
Alt text
Night street scene with a lone figure crossing under a hard pool of light.

Contact sheets

Make a record of the room.

Export contact sheets for a room, a finalist, or a comparison between branches. Keep the edit you chose, and the ones you rejected, visible.

  • Room contact sheets
  • Branch comparisons
  • Finalist proof
  • Export manifest

Export

Export quietly, from the originals.

POSTROOMS uses lightweight previews for fast sequencing, then exports from original sources when the room is ready. The default path is local, high-quality, and platform-aware.

Details for technical users

The current lab path uses local processing, high-quality resizing, Jpegli JPEG output, Smart Quality, contact sheets, manifests, and advanced renderer settings.

Optional alternate room

Try another room, if you want one.

POSTROOMS can optionally create an alternate room from low-resolution previews, room order, and your notes. It never overwrites your edit. It gives you another sequence to compare, reject, revise, or argue with.

AI is opt-in. Originals stay local by default.

Room 04 - Another read

Created from Room 02. Based on notes and current order.

For the places sequences go

Instagram posts. Photo books. Zines. Client edits. Portfolios. Long-term bodies of work.

POSTROOMS is not a scheduler. It is the room before the sequence leaves your machine.

Private alpha

Help shape the first rooms.

POSTROOMS is in private alpha for Mac users who actively sequence image sets: photographers, artists, editors, designers, zine makers, book people, and anyone with too many almost-right orders.
